Chatting with Seda at Slowlands II.
Lately I’ve been looking for more “grown up” bars in Berlin. Places where you can have a nice drink, good conversation, the music doesn’t go “thump-thump-thump-thump” and you don’t go home smelling like a smoked fish.
You wouldn’t believe how hard that is to find here, until you realize that no matter how old they are, everyone in Berlin is a perpetual student…

I would like to say that I’ve been slowly slipping back into my Berlin life. But actually it’s been a full-on bum rush…
So it looks like I start 2013 in the same way I started 2012…
Wife applications now accepted.
Me: talented at making noise, noticing things, dressing reasonably well, cooking a decent meal, building things with my hands, bathing fairly regularly and not snoring.
You: into travel, long walks, amazing music, eating good food without guilt and would move to the forest without hesitation if the chance came up.

For the ones that asked about my hand-built synthesizer…
Studio Improv 30 Apr 2012
Getting the computer out of my live sound was the best thing that ever happened to me. When I work with the modular synthesizer, I feel like I have a piece of clay in my hands which I can squeeze in any direction I choose. This short improvisation was made during filming of the documentary “Learning to Listen”, on sound artists in several European cities by London College of Communication students Dann Linn, Marianna Sangita and Andi Spowart.
Anonymous asked: What are some of your favourite things to do?
An excellent question, Mr or Ms Anon. I like cooking good food, sipping fine Scotch, making things with my hands, walking in nature (forests and mountains in particular), reading old books, learning new skills, discovering well-crafted clothes & objects and sculpting sound on my hand-built synthesizer. Thanks for asking!
