As the sun sets, there is a huge bank of blue clouds which have flowed over the mountains about 25 miles distant like a tidal wave in slow motion and swallowed them whole. My camera is temporarily out of commission, and even if it wasn’t I’m a lousy landscape photographer. There is no substitute for simply being there. I really have enjoyed my stay in Marfa and honestly hope I can bring a bit of the quiet I found here home with me.
